Ignacio Martin-Baró the psychologist, priest and political activist popularized the term “Liberation Psychology”. Martin-Baró focused on the oppression of his fellow Salvadorians, Central Americans, and Latin Americans and was assassinated by the El Salvadorian government in 1989.
